(((((((Grace)))))))
You and your family are in my prayers.
our dear mouthy is really having a tough time right now and needs our support and/or prayers.
as some of you may know, she's already lost 3 of her children in death and the other one to the borg.
in the last couple of days, she's had to worry about her 2 year old great-granddaughter being in the hospital with an illness and yesterday, her daughter had a suspicious mole removed from her back and was told there is a lump in her breast which has to be biopsied.

i am sure most of you are now aware of the missing british girl madeleine mccann, who was abducted from portugal a few weeks ago.
the media is making a massive thing about this, and i am just wondering why.
they say 70,000 kids go missing each year in the uk alone - but this case seems to be unique in that it is so widely reported.
This story was on South African news too. Here is a story of parents that go out for dinner and leave their little children at home by themselves as far as I'm concered the parents should have ordered room service and stayed with the kids!! Have you any idea how may children in this country are raped everyday? How many children are murdered for the use of "muty" or whitch doctor remedies! These strories no longer even make evening news!
the older i get the more i have to evaluate myself.
i have noted a loyalty to a fault with friends.
i truly have thought on that.
Hi Sparkplug
I have just read your story and really enjoyed your style of writting.
I also have had friendships in the past that were very lobsided. I was doing all the giving and they were doing all the taking. Now I choose to be with people that are more willing to work at a relationship with me and people that not only lean on me but in hard times I can lean on them too. I have also grown so much as a person that some of my friends of 10 years ago would not really apeal to me now. When all the common factors that brought you together in the first place are no longer there the friendship sometimes dies a natural death.
Some people come into your life for a specific season of your life and you may really cherish that friendship but when the seaon is over they move on. Not all friendships have to last a life time for them to be real.
by kids, i mean teens.
there has been in increase in this kind of stupid behavior around my area.
it seems to me that we are breeding a generation of complete morons.
The kids in South Africa are playing a game called "Train Surfing". Our trains are all above ground these kids climb onto the roof of the train and stand as if surfing and the train is the surf board. Many have been killed, the slip off or the are not paying attention to the approaching tunnel! This is happening mostly in low income areas. I don't know what makes these kids go play with their lives like this.
i would like those of you former jws turned christian to post here.
specific denominations can be mentioned.
i'd just like to get an idea of how many of you there are.
Welcome jsssvd8, I hope to see more of your posts. Many of us on this forum have family that are still JW and it's not easy to see how brainwashed they are. Sometimes I want to take my mom and shake her brain cells around a bit!!
In my community last Sunday we had a interdominational service. There were about 6 churches represented there and it was awesome. The local pastors, ministers etc get together once a month and discuss community needs, they all get on really well and do not fight about who is right and who is wrong they all serve Christ and that's what counts.
Maybe South Africa is unique in this???? I also attened a ladies Christian retreat annualy and there are ussaly about 10 different churches represented but we worship one Lord. Who comes from which church makes no difference at all. We are Christians choosing to worship in different churches, the message is the same. The only difference is how the service is conducted. So if you like happy clappy dancing in the ailse go for it and if you like a quieter service go find one. As long as the church you are attending is teaching from the bible and not some man made doctrine how you CHOOSE to worship or where makes no difference.
ok, i met my brother today.
he drove me to my eye appt out of town.
we rarely get time together alone (no spouses/kids etc).
You give me hope for my family!!!
a friend of mine was recently diagnosed with cancer throughout her pancreas.
this is usually a deadly and rapidly lethal cancer.
at my bible study group prayer requests were taken and i placed her name in for prayer.
Hi Now I See
I too believe in the power of prayer and thank the Lord for your friends recovery.
I personally would prefer not to use someone else's personal problems as an excuse to promote my own (religious or anti-religious) agenda.
Madame, I fully agree with you! A little respect for other people's beliefs please! Why do non believers always have to turn every single post into a platform for their personal beliefs. I think this message was posted for a bit of support not as a bible bashing thread.

If there is one lesson I learnt "the hard way" from having been a JW is that I should not judge others. As a witness I truly believed that I had "the truth" and judged the rest of the "world". As a Christian I now am very aware of my past and try not to make judgement on anyone. I say try because it's not easy, but I will not advocate one Christian religion over another as I have not personally experienced all Christian religions. I have been to different churches in my community and have settle where my family and I are comfortable. I think that if you are searching for God He will find you no matter where you are. I believe that the Holy Spirit is a gift from God to all humans and cannot be contained in a building.

Count me in too. I fellowship with the local Methodist church.
i am going to approach my parents (dad an elder) later this summer with my true feelings about the wt society.
i have the cd rom and a lot of society books (plus of course the off limits wonders of google) but i happen to have just one bound volume of the watchtower 1953. it's a real gem!.
i intend to bring this book to my meeting with them as they won't be able to say it's apostate.
Wow!! I wish I had a copy of the 1953 volume. All the best for your meeting let us know how it goes.
